Welcome to the home page of the ICT Forum for Scotland.

The ICT Forum for Scotland was established by the Scottish Government in 2007 to provide thought leadership in relation to the skilled exploitation of information and communications technology. Its role is to analyse the evidence base and identify what action should be taken to improve Scotland’s ICT productivity.

The objectives of the ICT Forum may be summarised as:

  • To develop a shared understanding of ICT's contribution to productivity, sustainable economic growth and the development of high value solutions to complex public sector, industrial and commercial problems;
  • To identify barriers that need to be overcome to enable Scotland to maximise the contribution of ICT across the public, private and academic sector;
  • To propose a new set of actions, building on existing initiatives, that both the private and public sector can take to raise productivity and find solutions to complex problems through use of ICT.
